Collage, I find, as a medium, can be somewhat daunting. It's that same feeling when looking at a blank canvas. But you can have a plan with a canvas. You can make it do what you want. With collage, printing your own digitally edited assets feels a bit like cheating. So you have to find all your ephemera. If that one image isn't the right size, you can't really use it. You're somewhat led by the things you find. Then once you find the thing, you might not find another one. So I've found it really useful to limit the scope - to refine it. These are collages inside cassette cases. The initial idea was to find old mixtapes and create work based around the vibe of the mix. But they're harder to find than expected. I have some, and the process is going well thanks to an old boom box I got from my uncle, so shoutout to Andy. These will be framed in a small black box frame, with the cassette case either attached by adhesive to the backboard, or by soldering ironing through the back of the case and using a small bolt to attach it. They'll be signed on the spine, probably along with a title. I think these will be printed, but the signature will be signed by hand.

Dunk (2022)
Is she being rescued? Is she under duress? Is she adding flavour to the drink? Is she the drink? Is she enjoying a nice warm bath and this invasive force is disrupting some much needed 'me time'?
The Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World (2022)
This is my most distilled work. I believe it speaks for itself.
Pluck (2022)
How did you get there? You simply must be more careful, you large orange maniac. Now, lets get you home, Marmalade, your parents have been wondering.
Road Rage at Steve's Diner (2022)
This collage, created with assets from Maria Rivans' Extraordinary Things to Cut Out and Collage, is a narrative vignette that depicts three cats engaged in a discussion. Due to the challenging nature of reading the expressions of felines, it is up to the reader to discern the mood of each cat. Has one of the cats made a dangerous manoeuvre? Are the cats complimenting the nice red car? Or perhaps all three are singing along to the same song on the radio. We may never know.
That Damned Owl (2022)
Not all love stories have traditionally happy endings. The Owl and the Pussycat amicably divorced a few years into their marriage. With a newfound sense of adventure, the feline seeks to revive their career as a surfer, arriving in Kanagawa on a historically gnarly tube wave. As the wave breaks, and white salt sea foam hails down upon speechless tugboats, the cat triumphantly makes their way to the beach, silhouetted against Fuji, announcing their arrival with a single, joyous, defiant expression of independence...

RatScalibur (2022)
Scurrying through the musty, bloated back streets of the gargantuan metropolis of advertisements, soup, and smoke, the humble Rat is spurred on by hope. He has a vision of a brighter world, a more equal world. As he reaches the mythical blade embedded in the pavement, he takes pause, reflecting on his journey. Time is short. The colossal ink moon weighs above, as his assailants attempt to scry his movements through the concrete maze from above. With this ancient power, our deft protagonist can perform feats long forgotten to the poor, wretched citizens. He can bring forth colour from the Earth itself. Wrenching the blade from its resting place, the Rat defiantly raises it to the sky, and the bloom follows.
